Have so far performed about 7000 cardiac operations independently and been associated with twice that number.

Teaching and Research
|
While working as Assistant Professor, Cardiothoracic Surgery at G.S.V.M. Medical College, Kanpur from July 1982 till January 1985. During this period, I gave regular lectures and tutorials for both U.G. and P.G. (M.S.) students and supervised MS Theses'.
I pioneered the use of the Transit Time Flow meter, for the first time in our country and my results were presented at the 12th World Congress of The World Society Of Cardiothoracic Surgeons - ISCTS', Lucerne, Switzerland from March 3 to 6, 2002.
Have been involved in teaching undergraduate students as well and training junior cardiac surgeons taking them through full cases. I also organized lectures for training of nurses and technicians. An Infection Control programme was developed by me in conjunction with the microbiologist for laying down guidelines to be followed by all personnel involved with patient care in the Institutes I worked in.
Worked at the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, University Hospital, Uppsala, Sweden for varying periods of time from 1992 where I was actively associated with all the operations done there and was operating independently as well. Their department does 7-8 operations daily and is internationally known for research.
